The First United Methodist Church of Shelton is a welcoming family of God committed to becoming more and more like Jesus Christ.

We affirm and respect each individual as a child of God.  We celebrate the uniqueness of each person and welcome people of every age, ethnicity, and race, sexual orientation and gender identity, marital status, socio-economic situation, and physical/mental ability.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we strive to create a community of faith that reflects Christ’s message of love and justice.  We invite all to full inclusion in the life and ministry of our church in Christ.

Mobile Phone Text Alerts

The last two storms made it clear that we need a more comprehensive way to communicate closures and other important issues. We are starting a new text-message alert system. While we anticipate using it infrequently, this text messaging system will help us ensure that everyone gets the message when needed. Puzzle Books for Garner Heights

Our missions team has been hard at work. Laura S connected with the people at Gardner Heights, the nursing home right next to our church. The residents there appreciate puzzle books as well as activities to fill their days. When you are shopping, keep an eye out for puzzle books. Word searches, crosswords, and others will be appreciated. Then bring them to church. We have a new donations box set up in the narthex that will be available starting this Sunday. Thank you. Messy Church: Saturday, January 10 Big Success: Our first Messy Church was a great experience for all. We also learned how to make it even better. Our next Messy Church will be February 14 from 4:30-6:30 PM. Invite friends, neighbors, and family to this Christ-centered, all-ages worship and celebration. Fun is guaranteed.
